It was formed in Oslo, Norway by Ethiopians and Norwegians of Ethiopian descent in December 2005 to play their part in the struggle for democracy and freedom in Ethiopia. The KSDON has active members and supporters throughout Norway and enjoys a broad support among the Ethiopian community in this country. Its membership and support base are growing and it has opened up an office in Oslo, Norway. It functions with a clear organizational structure comprising different units with clear responsiblities and tasks. A Chairperson, a secretary, exetrnal relations, financial and economic affairs, public relations, organizational affairs and research and study, and audit and control units constitute its executive organ. The terms of the members of the executive organ shall be 2 years after which period, the general meeting of the members shall elect new executive members. The organization has its own by-laws which have been deliberated on and approved by the general meeting of the members of the organization.
